We at R+C Seetransport are pleased to welcome Mr. Alessandro Fiorani as the new branch manager at the Duisburg location. Born in Dortmund, he has many years of experience in the logistics industry (focus: project business) and an extensive network. With Mr. Fiorani, R+C has gained a valuable asset for the company.
The following interview reflects his views, experiences and visions.
1. What were your most important professional milestones in the past?
AF: It is not easy to highlight a specific milestone, as I was able to gain important experience in medium-sized companies as well as in a corporate group.
2. What was your personal highlight in your professional life?
AF: a project business with 20 wind turbines up to DAP Windfield north of Baku (Azerbaijan)
3. What will be your main tasks at R+C Seetransport?
AF: Development of the Duisburg branch (import + export) and the project business
4. How did you come to R+C?
AF: Jörg-A. Cordes is actually the main reason for my move to R+C Seetransport. He hired me in 2002 in another logistics company in his role as managing director at the time, and later appointed me as branch manager for the Cologne location and granted me power of attorney for the first time in my professional life. Furthermore, I believe that R+C's journey is far from over and that I can share in it with my colleagues.
5. Please give us a concise quote that describes your attitude/motto in life:
AF: “YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE”
As a native of Dortmund, I am of course a fan of the BVB soccer team. Since 1992, the song has always been played before the start of the game. The reason for this is that in 1989, numerous people lost their lives in the “Hillsborough disaster” (game: Liverpool FC vs. Nottingham Forest). I watched the first game after the disaster, during which the names of the dead were displayed while the song was playing.
It still moves me to this day when I hear the song and 80,000 people singing along in the stadium. That's why the title of this song has also become my motto in life (and tattoo).
